Replace fuse box

Group box replacement or expansion?

The distribution board is an essential part of your home or commercial building's electrical system. It controls the power supply to the various electrical appliances and provides protection against overloads and short circuits. Over time, however, your distribution board may become outdated and no longer meet current safety standards. In that case, it is time to replace your distribution board.

At Markus Techniek, we understand the importance of a properly functioning and safe distribution board. Our experienced electricians have the knowledge and expertise to replace your distribution box efficiently and safely. We work with the latest technologies and products to ensure your distribution board meets the highest standards for safety and efficiency.

Our working method

Our group box replacement service includes a thorough inspection of your current group box and the design of a customized system to fit your specific needs. We provide the proper wiring, number of groups and type of ground fault circuit breakers. We also ensure that the new system meets all regulations and highest safety standards of NEN1010 and IEC-61439.

Our electricians work quickly and efficiently to ensure that your fuse box is replaced quickly and without hassle. We provide minimal disruption to your daily activities and ensure your electrical system is back up and running quickly.

Finally, we place a sticker with our approval number when we have completed the work. With this approval number it is possible to request a declaration of conformity if your insurer asks for it.

If you are looking for a reliable and professional fuse box replacement service, contact Markus Techniek. We are always ready to help you with your electrical needs and offer excellent service and support before, during and after the installation of your new fuse box.

How many groups?

Appliances with a higher connected load than 2000 Watts require a separate group.
These appliances in most cases include others:

- a washing machine, clothes dryer or dishwasher.
- a hot water appliance such as a quooker or close-in boiler.
- a preparation appliance such as an oven, steam oven or combination microwave.

- an induction cooktop up to 7400 watts behind a stove group.
- as well as an induction cooktop from 7400 to 11,400 watts, also called a (3-phase) cooking group.

We will at all times also protect you other large consumers such as a patio heater, sauna, jacuzzi or charging point for your electric car from overcurrent by having your own installation or ground fault circuit breaker.

Old electrical cabinet

When replacing the distribution board, we are required to comply with at least the following points;

- The group box must be equipped with a main switch.
- The distribution board must also be equipped with at least two earth leakage switches.
- Earth leakage switches must be suitable for the total current of grid input + PV installation. Example: 1x35A main connection +15A PV = 50A that can run through the installation, so 63A earth leakage switches must be used!
- A maximum of four groups may be protected by one RCD or the sum of the leakage currents may not result in unwanted tripping of the RCD (NEN1010:2020).

- Up to 12 groups fit in a standard distribution board but this is not always desirable to ensure proper heat management. You should think about installing a PV group for solar panels or an EV group for charging your electric car. In these cases, we recommend that you have a larger distributor (group box) installed so that the heat management is guaranteed and the group box is clearer.

If necessary, we can fit your new distribution board with an intermediate meter, bell transformer and/or extra wall outlet for equipment in the meter cupboard.

We are affiliated with trade association Techniek Nederland and recognized by the InstallQ foundation. In addition, we are in possession of stamp duty for the service area of Stedin, Liander and Enexis intended to work safely on (home) installations up to 3x80A. For example to replace the distribution board or main switch and is therefore a confirmation that this is done by an InstallQ approved electrical installer.
