Due to stricter regulations in the form of the Gas Boiler Act and related certification, it has no longer proved profitable for us to continue with maintenance of gas-fired boilers. For this reason, we will have to refer you to one of our partners with service questions.
The Gas Boiler Act went into effect on April 1, 2023. From that date, only certified installation companies are allowed to perform work on gas-burning appliances, such as central heating boilers, geysers and gas fireplaces. The purpose of this law is to reduce the number of accidents caused by carbon monoxide poisoning.
Certified companies can be recognized by the CO-free logo and can be found in the gas combustion plant register. An installer also carries (digital) credentials showing that he or she works for a certified company.
It is important that both installers and clients, such as home and building owners, as well as tenants and landlords, take care to hire a certified company to work on gas burning appliances. Failure to comply with this law can lead to violations and possible penalties.
Periodic maintenance
Periodic maintenance of technical installations including your gas-fired central heating boiler or ventilation unit is essential. Wear and contamination are a logical consequence of use and come at the expense of efficiency, comfort and service life. Apart from the unit itself, it is important to periodically inspect flue gas and air ducts to identify wear and defects in a timely manner. Deficiencies and possible defects should be brought to the attention in time to ensure proper operation and safety of residents.
After all, the comfort and safety of you and your fellow residents is paramount.
